Villa Steinbock

Villa Steinbock is a spacious, brick-built semidetached holiday home, suitable for up to 6 persons. It lies in the small village of Kötschach-Mauthen, in Carinthia, Austria. At the back of the house, you will find a large balcony-covered terrace, with a full dining table and chairs set and barbecue, as well as a big lawn wonderful for playing.

The holiday chalet lies in a quiet neighbourhood with similar villas, so chances are that your children will make some new friends. Kötschach’s centre with its stores, restaurants and Stubes is within walking distance, and the village offers a few supermarkets.

On the inside, the luxurious house is finished in detail, and tastefully decorated. Equipped with a cosy wood stove, ample wood supply, a luxurious and roomy kitchen and satellite TV.

Are you with more than 6 persons? You can also rent our other holiday home, the adjacent Villa Gemse (the other half of the semidetached villa). Together, these will host a maximum of 12 people.

Carinthia and the Gail valley

In the vicinity of Kötschach-Mauthen there is a wealth of things to do! First and foremost, the area offers superb winter sports options, such as skiing, snowboarding, sledding, cross-country skiing, etc. In spring, summer and fall, there are countless walking, hiking and cycling routes, or you can visit any of the beautiful mountain lakes with their abundance of water sports possibilities. Kötschach also has its own swimming paradise, Aquarena, which is in walking distance of Villa Steinbock. And if that isn’t your cup of tea, there is horseback riding, mining your own gems, an enchanted forest, a zoo, a variety of museums, and much, much more. Carinthia has a pristinely beautiful Alp-landscape, with great natural diversity. Kötschach-Mauthen lies in the gorgeous Gailtal, on the banks of the Gail river. The local people are genuinely friendly, hospitable, helpful, and quite environmentally conscious, for instance in supporting locally grown products.
